Small-Group Homeschool Classes for Teens
During the 2026-27 school year, I will be teaching a series of academically rigorous small group classes for teen homeschoolers. This is the eighth year I am offering these classes, and the last seven years have been wildly successful! I am bringing this program back after a three-year hiatus. Many of my students have gone on to Renaissance High School, Miller School of Albemarle, and PVCC. Renaissance School has said that my students are among the academically strongest and best prepared of all of their incoming freshmen students each year.
These classes will be offered in person at my home in Charlottesville, with an option to Zoom in occasionally in case of illness or other circumstances.
These classes meet for the full academic year, with each subject meeting one day per week for two hours. Students should expect around 2-3 hours of homework for each subject each week. Math meets for a single hour. Offer math via one-on-one tutoring, and can tutor up through Geometry. I offer an academically challenging curriculum, directed at 7th-8th grade students, with support for students to develop their learning habits and styles and room to make mistakes.
Students are welcome to take these classes “a la carte”, choosing any subjects that would be useful to them, but each subject represents a full-year commitment.

If you decide to enroll, I can help to prepare your homeschool paperwork. Please note that this paperwork is due August 15! I also can help with your homeschool evaluations at the end of the year. Current students get a steeply discounted evaluation.
