During the 2019-20 school year, I will be piloting a small group homeschool program for 8th and 9th graders. The book list has brief curriculum descriptions for each subject, and the registration page has pricing information, and more details. If your child is currently in a traditional day-school and you would like them to work with me, or homeschooling and needing assistance, please see my tutoring page for more information.
I will keep this page up to date with my current offerings with each of these groups, so please check back here for updates on new classes.
Monday: CHEC Homeschool Enrichment Program (Charlottesville)
I have also had the privilege to work with CHEC, which offers a wide variety of academic and enrichment classes to the homeschooling community. I have seen a wide variety of excellent classes there from astronomy to calligraphy to a 2hr fully produced play. From their website:
The Community Homeschool Enrichment Center is a point of connection and support for families who are interested in life-long learning. CHEC provides classes for ages 6 and up who live in Charlottesville, Virginia and the surrounding area. The organization’s goal is to nurture love of learning by offering a balanced mix of learner- and teacher-initiated courses that are creative and age and developmentally appropriate.
In Fall 2019, I am not offering any courses at CHEC. Sign up through their website for their current semester here.
Over the past five years of working with the homeschooling community, I have offered a classes in a wide variety of disciplines including:
Squishy Circuits, Acrylic Painting, Wet-on-Wet Watercolor Painting, Medieval History, Vegetable Fermentation, Islamic Geometry, Gluten-Free Baking, International Vegetarian Cooking, French Cooking, Henna and Celtic Knotwork, Fiction writing for teens, Non-fiction writing for teens, Parts of Speech and Where to Find Them, Gak and Goop, and many others.
Please contact me if you would like to know more about a specific class, or would like me to offer a class again.
